Southeast Asia Market: packaging paper price to maintain stable

Packaging paper is stable in Southeast Asia market

While the price of coated and uncoated paper (CFP and UFP) in Southeast Asia is slightly down from the end of 2018, the price of packaging paper in Southeast Asia still shows its stability.

Coated and uncoated writing paper (CFP and UFP) have been slightly reduced since the end of 2018 due to high supply of pulp pulp prices in China and Indonesia were low in the first quarter of 2019.

100g CFP paper is currently on sale for $ 720-790 / ton, down $ 10 / ton compared to $ 730-800 / ton in the quarter IV.2018.

UFP type 70g paper priced at 780-820 USD / ton, down from 790-840 USD / ton at the end of December 2018, even a successful transaction with the price of 750 USD / ton was witnessed.

In contrast, the APP has announced an increase of US $ 30 / ton for UFP paper from Indonesian factories in early March 2019.

At the end of February 2019, APRIL announced an increase of US $ 20 / ton for UFP from Indonesia and the final week of March announced an additional increase of US $ 30 / ton since April 1, 2019.

It is worth noting that although the cost of input materials is low, the price of packaging paper in Southeast Asia remains stable from the end of 2018. Kraft-top-liner is at USD 490-550 / ton, test-liner at 410-460 USD / ton, and corrugated paper from recycled pulp at 370-435 USD / ton.
