The global consumption of pulp in September 2019

The global consumption of pulp in September 2019 reached 4,755 million tons, the reserve decreased to 44 days of supply, the ratio of consumption to output reached 99%.

Statistics from the Pulp and Paper Product Council (PPPC) show that the global consumption for pulp market in September 2019 increased by 4.0% to 4,755 million tons compared to 4,571 million tons in July 2019.

Pulp consumption has increased by 3.4% compared to the same period in 2018 (September, 2018 reached 4.598 million tons). Thus, the consumption rate compared to output in September reached 99%, recorded an increase of 7% compared to 93% of August 2019.

On the other hand, the consumption of bleached soft wood pulp (BSK) reached 2,038 million tons in September, lower than in August of 2,195 million tons. Meanwhile, the consumption of bleached hardwood pulp (BHK) reached 2,566 million tons, up from 2,233 million tons in August.

According to PPPC statistics: Manufacturer's global inventories decreased to 4 days, to 44 days in September (35 days for BSK powder and 52 days for BHK powder), but 6 days higher than the same period in September 2018.
